Symphony No. 23 in D major

was composed by Herschel in “Leeds Jan 30th 1764”. There are three movements:

Allegro, Andantino and Allegro assai.

It is scored for 2 violins, viola, violoncello, double bass, 2 flutes, 2 horns, (2 trumpets), (timpani). This edition is based upon GB Lbm Add. MS 49627/4 (holograph score) and MS 49632/2 (holograph parts).
