Symphony No. 18 in E flat major

was composed by Herschel when he was in “Pontefract in Yorksh: July 31st 1762”. There are three movements:

Allegro, Adagio mà non troppo and Presto.

It is scored for 2 violins, viola, violoncello, double bass, 2 oboes, 2 horns, (2 clarinets), continuo. This edition is based upon GB Lbm Add. MS 49626/6 (holograph score) and MS 49631/2 (holograph parts).
