Symphony No. 8 in C minor

was composed when Herschel was in “Sunderland in the County of Durh: aprill 20th 1761”. There are three movements:

Allegro assai, Andante and Presto assai.

It is scored for 2 violins, viola, bass. This edition is based upon GB Lbm Add. MS 49625/2 (holograph score) and MS 49629/2 (holograph parts).
